What DGR air freight covers
Dangerous goods in air transport are strictly regulated by IATA DGR rules, which are updated annually. Wrong classification or incomplete documentation means shipment refusal at the terminal, delays and fines.
Makella performs the entire procedure: classification (UN number, class, packing group), preparation of the Shipper's Declaration, sourcing UN-certified packaging, proper packing, labelling and handover to the ZAG cargo terminal.
Most common DGR shipments we handle
Lithium batteries (standalone and installed in devices), industrial chemicals, paints and varnishes, aerosols, perfumes, disinfectants, biological samples for laboratory testing, parts containing magnets or limited quantities of hazardous substances.
Send us the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and basic shipment data — within 2 hours we reply with a quote and preparation plan.

Često postavljana pitanja
What is DGR and who can ship dangerous goods by air?+
DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations) is IATA's set of rules for air transport of dangerous goods. The shipper must prepare the shipment per DGR rules, and the declaration is signed by a certified person. Makella handles this on your behalf.
Can I ship lithium batteries by air?+
Yes, but with strict classification (UN3480, UN3481, UN3090, UN3091) and proper packaging. Contact us with battery details (Wh, mass, installed in equipment or standalone) and we will prepare the documentation.
Which goods CANNOT be shipped by air?+
Certain substances are forbidden for air transport (e.g. explosives class 1.1–1.3 on passenger aircraft, certain radioactive materials). We review every item before booking and suggest alternatives if goods are not acceptable.
